Kazuhiko Shinozawa was a Group Leader, Interaction System Laboratory, Intelligent Robotics and Communication Laboratories, Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR). He received B.E. and M.E. in Electrical Engineering from Keio University in 1988 and 1990, respectively. In 1990, he joined the NTT Human Interface Laboratories, where he was engaged in solving optimization problem and predicting weather radar images by using artificial neural networks.
In 1998, he moved to the NTT Communication Science Laboratories. Since then, he has been conducting research for building a robot that can communicate with human naturally and smoothly. He moved to ATR on May 2003, and returned to NTT CS Labs. on April 2013.
