Communication Robot Dept. (CR)
We are doing foundational research in robotics in order to develop partner robots for society with the aim that these can be applied to support a range of activities in daily life. We also invite many researchers from the fields of cognitive science and psychology with an emphasis on studying the relation between human and human society.
Network Robot Dept. (NR)
We are working on a network robot that unites ubiquitous network technology with robot technology in order to improve the coordination of robot’ action and situation recognition.
Assisted Communication Dept. (AC)
We are trying to find ways of reducing the stress on the persons with disabilities as well as their families through designing a participatory Internet Community. We are developing a new interface called “Information Therapy”, where the individual is connected to the Internet Community by image recognition and senses interface technology.
Ambient Intelligence Dept. (AI)
Our research project is to develop a unified environment that combines ubiquitous network technology and sensing technology with high precision sensing technology, as well as both internal and external situation recognition technology.
Applied Knowledge Dept. (AK)
We are developing technology to understand motion information obtained on either people or the situation through a range of various sensors.
Interaction System (IS)
Our research project is the development of communication robot technologies to realize an interaction system that can induce human behavior modification.
